Khalid Rice Mills is a partnership company registered with the registrar of companies in Pakistan. The mill is located in the rice growing area of Nankana Sahib, 60 Km from Lahore, the capital of Punjab and hub of Pakistan’s rice growing, milling and export.

History and Activities

A visionary project of its founder, Late Mr. Khalid Khan, KRM started its operations in 1970. From a small husking unit in 1970, KRM has transformed in to a multiple activity group of companies. KRM covers inter-related activities in Rice from seed research and development to global marketing. Constituent organizations include:

The Organic Farms are certified by Control Union Certifications Netherlands to meet following regulations

1. Regulation (EC) No 834/2007 on Production Standards
2. Regulation (EC) No 889/2008 on organic production of agricultural products
3. USDA Regulation 7 CF Part 205.

The Husking, Milling and Processing units at No. 3 & 4 are ISO & HACCP Certified.

The Chairman, Mr. Javed Anwar holds a Master’s degree in Agriculture with specialization in Entomology. His professional career span of 40 years covers technical and administrative experience in rice-related fields. This includes:

KRM is managed by a team of qualified professionals having over 30 years’ experience in Rice Supply Chain Management. They are fully conversant with consumer needs, legal and statutory regulations of importing countries and Global Food Safety Standards.

The Plants

KRM owns three Rice Units well equipped with local and imported machines, including latest Color Sorters from Japan and China. The Process Flow covers Dryers, Pre-Cleaners, De-Stoners, Huskers/Hullers, Paddy Separators, Whiteners, Length and Size Graders, Sorters and Packing machines

Products and Services

KRM offers both Conventional and Organic Basmati Rice varieties in all forms- Brown, Raw Milled White, Par-Boiled and Pre-Steamed. With a milling capacity of 100 Tons/Day, KRM’s annual capacity is 20,000 Metric Tons. It has a proven track record of more than 10,000 Metric Tons of export per annum.

Storage, Warehousing, Preservation, Safety & Security

The organization has 10 Godowns for raw paddy and 16 Warehouses for finished rice all protected from glass and other contaminants & allergens. These are well maintained, periodically fumigated, have Integrated Pest Management and monitored through CCTV network.

• QC lab to monitor physical parameters, Aflatoxins and OTA.

Outsourced

• GMO & Chemical Residues testing from SGS/EUROFIN
• DNA from PCSIR, NIAB & NIBGE (ISO 17025 Accredited)

Self-Screening through sampling, testing and analysis at Incoming, In-process and final stage form part of the routine controls. Sampling & Testing are regularly performed to ensure that product delivered to customers conform to the contractual obligation.
